Some of the books we have read. Like many homeschoolers, we have
lots of books and are always adding more to our collection. Here's a
few to get you started.
Click on the topics below and that will take you to the

Getting
Started
- The Hows and Whys of Homeschooling - These books are useful for
both new homeschoolers and for veterans
looking for ideas and inspiration. Also includes titles good for
doubting
relatives and some titles related to public school issues.
Curriculum/Unit
Studies - These books include curriculum guides to help you decide
on programs
and materials for either creating your own curriculums or using
existing
materials. This category also includes actual curriculum materials.
Learning Styles

Methods - These titles help you understand the different approaches
to learning
and finding what type of learner that your child is so you can find
what
methods work best for your family. Includes titles related to
unschooling
and other methods.
Teens, College and
Life
- These titles address issues related to older
homeschoolers
as they approach college and adulthood. Also good for those with
children in the middle school years to prepare for the future.

Computer
Learning for Parents - These books are helpful for those who want
to use the resources that
are available through computers. Includes a link to our robotics and
Lego
Mindstorms books.
Help! I need ideas.

Field trips, crafts, activities, fun things to make - These books
give practical ideas and help for creating activities
and materials to supplement the homeschooling experience. Suggestions
for places to go and things to do as well as step-by-step instructions.
Includes special section on things to do in Texas.

Children - These are but a few of our favorite books. Includes a
special section on Texas-related subjects as well as "classics" and
computer
books for children.

- These books are Liz's picks, ones that she has especially enjoyed.
Genealogy
- These books relate to the topic of genealogy, a great way to help
bring history to life as you find your family tree. This points to the
books for our Italian genealogy list, so also include books related to
Italian culture (including food). Other topics include beginner books,
children's genealogy books, computers and memory books.
