Houston Theater

Homeschool theater discounts are available through BAA Houston and TUTS. The majority of performances take place at Hobby Center in downtown Houston. Houston has the 2nd largest theater district in the country (only NYC is bigger). As a result, Houston has a good selection of shows available each season. The Greater Houston area has a very large homeschool population, it's also common to have homeschoolers from College Station, Austin, San Antonio and even Louisiana attend some of the productions.

BAA - Broadway in Houston

This is our fourth season to offer homeschool theater discounts through Broadway in Houston. Our first homeschool discount was in 2004. As a result of attending the annual Theater District Open House, we became aware of the online group discounts available through BAA Broadway Across America - Houston and made arrangements for TAFFIE discounts for homeschoolers. Due to the great response from homeschoolers to the offers, we were later able to expand the discounts to other Broadway Across America cities including Austin and San Antonio. Discounts will vary by production ranging anywhere from 10% to 50% off single ticket sale price and some shows will offer special educator discounts.

TUTS Houston

This is our first season to coodinate homeschool offers through TUTS - Theater Under the Stars. Discounts are typically 20% off list price. FLASH homeschoolers coordinates homeschool tickets for student matinees of TUTS productions, but TUTS does not offer student matinees for all their shows. The TAFFIE discounts on the evening shows offers homeschoolers an opportunity to get discounts on shows that do not have student shows available. In general we will skip shows that have FLASH student matinees available.
