Introduction to Web Page Creation

Learn some of the basics to create your own web pages

These workshops will get you started writing web pages. We will also introduce you to some basic tools you can use to write your own web pages and go over some of the basic terminology and show you tools available to help you build the best web site in the world.

These are short workshops that introduce you to the basics of creating your own web pages. We will use a variety of tools that will help you get started, even if you have no prior experience with web design and programming.  The software is free and should run on most computers.

This will be a two part workshop.

In the first workshop you will:
  1. Create your own web page using Google Page Creator.
  2. Learn some of the terminology and tools that are available to you for creating your own web pages
  3. Write your own web page using the free web page tool NVU.

The second workshop will build on the first, getting into more of what you can do and teaching more about web page creation. You will learn more about web pages and HTML elements like tables, lists, etc. You will also get a gentle introduction to CSS and Javascript to make your pages even better. 

Objective: Teach fundamentals of web page creation in a fun but informative way.

Target Audience: Anyone that wants to build their own web pages.

Computer requirements: If your computer can run a reasonably new web browser, you can use the tools that we will introduce you to.

These workshops will get you started with creating your own web page. You will learn about some of the basic tools that are available and you will be able to create your own basic web page by the end of the class.

Session #1 -  Tuesday, June 12th and Thursday, June 14th from  10am-11:30am

Session #2 - Monday, July 16th and Wednesday, July 18th  from 10am to 11:30am.

Session #3 - Monday, August 27th  and Wednesday, August 29th  from 10am to 11:30am. - registration open


Each session is an hour and a half.
Class sizes are small, some may have as few as 4-6 students.
Cost: $40 a workshop.
