2005
What is Robofest?
Students design, construct and program their robots while learning
problem-solving techniques, mathematics, logic, creativity, physics, electronics,
mechanics, teamwork, computers and computer programming. Started at Lawrence Tech in
2000, Robofest has grown rapidly.
Our regional event will include both a Junior (5th-9th grade) and Senior (9th-12th grade) level competition as well as an Exhibition. For the competetion team sizes are small (ideal size is 4-6), and teams use 2 robots to perform their challenge and can use any programming language to perform their tasks. Robots can be built from any type of materials. For the Exhibition each team has complete freedom to show off any creative autonomous robotics project. For 2006, there will be two Exhibition Divisions, one Junior and one Senior.
Qualifying teams from our regional event will be invited to attend the World Robofest Championship: May 13th, 2006 at Lawrence Tech, MI
We'll need teams, volunteers, judges and sponsors. Students from all over TX are invited to participate. This is currently the only TX Robofest event scheduled. Robofest encourages all types of teams; homeschools, private schools, public schools, neighborhood groups, civic groups, clubs, churches, scouts, etc.
Watch for updates for team registration and event information.
